LADY PANTHERS SHUTOUT MILANO 4-0 TO STAY UNBEATEN IN DISTRICT
The Burton Lady Panthers stayed unbeaten in District 26-2A play with a 4-0 win over Milano last (Tuesday) night).
Bailey Glaesmann turned in another dominating pitching performance in the circle with seven shutout innings allowing four hits, walking three, and striking out seven.
Burton got their first run in the bottom of the second inning. Lexi Broesche singled, and then stole second. Glaesmann hit a single that moved her to third. Broesche would later score on a wild pitch to give the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead.
It would stay that way until the bottom of the fifth inning. Abby Dowling walked. Reagan Roemer bunted her over to second base. Natalie Hodde reached on an infield hit to load the bases. Paige Fritsch followed with a two-run double that scored Dowling and Hodde to make it 3-0 Lady Panthers.
Burton added one more in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Roemer that brought home Laci Broesche to increase the lead to 4-0.
Milano did get a runner aboard in the top of the seventh inning, but she was erased on a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.
