The report uses data compiled from analytics and ad-tech firm Datafy to track key performance indicators with the greatest impact on the local economy, community and growth.

Some highlights from the Destination Summary Report:

    • Visit Brenham hosted guests from all over the country in 2024; 90.5% of visitors were from in-state, while 9.55% came from out-of-state.  The top three visitation markets were Houston, Austin, and Waco-Temple-Bryan.
    • Visitors took an estimated 3,534,838 trips in 2024, with an average length of stay of 1.7 days per trip.
    • Markets with the highest visitor spending were Houston, Austin, and Dallas-Ft. Worth.
    • The three most popular months for visitation were March, June and July.
    • While in-market, visitors spent time in local hotels, cultural attractions, shops and business, and food and beverage outlets. The two most-visited points of interest were downtown Brenham and Blue Bell Creameries.

The Destination Summary Report provides insights and statistics reflective from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.  Insights were generated by Datafy by pulling from multiple data sources such as geolocation, spending, and lodging data.  The report reflects only domestic visitation and defines visitors as those whose device consistently originates from outside a radius of 50 miles from the destination.

Each May, the country celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week to recognize the U.S. travel community and the role of travel in growing economies and communities, creating job opportunities, inspiring new businesses and improving quality of life.  According to the U.S. Travel Association, travel is a $2.9 trillion industry that supports over 15 million American jobs.
