BRENHAM FD RESPONDS MONDAY TO DOWNED POWER LINES, FIRE ALARMS

The Brenham Fire Department responded to four calls on Monday.

Shortly before noon, firefighters went out to a fire alarm at Motel 6, 555 Highway 290 West.  They found the system had a malfunction, so they returned to service.

Just past 12:15 p.m., units responded to a power line down in the 2400 block of Highway 290 East.  They checked the area and found multiple lines down.  The department stood by until Bluebonnet Electric made location.

Another fire alarm was called in around 6 p.m. at the Mill Creek Residence Hall, 1192 Old Mill Creek Road.  BFD members determined the system had a malfunction, so they cleared the call.

A few minutes after 11:45 p.m., the department was called out to Zippy J’s, 203 South Blue Bell Road, for a gas odor.  Firefighters stood by until the City of Brenham Gas Department made location before clearing the scene.
