BRENHAM CUBS KICK OFF FOOTBALL SEASON WITH SCRIMMAGE

The wait is nearly over for Brenham football fans, as the Cubs prepare to take the field for their first live action of the 2025 season. On Thursday, August 21, Brenham will travel to Rattler Stadium in Navasota for a preseason scrimmage against the Navasota Rattlers, marking the team’s first opportunity to compete against outside opposition.

With expectations running high following a standout 2024 campaign, Head Coach Danny Youngs emphasized on the KWHI Sports Line the importance of preparation and execution heading into the new season.

The matchup serves as a key stepping stone for a veteran Cubs squad aiming to build on last year’s 9-1 regular season. With a deep returning roster and aspirations for a deep playoff run, Thursday’s scrimmage offers a valuable opportunity to test schemes, evaluate depth, and build chemistry in a live setting.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Rattler Stadium. The regular season officially begins the following week when the Cubs host Huntsville on Senior Night at Cubs Stadium.
