TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL RETURNING FOR 51ST ANNIVERSARY
The largest Renaissance-themed attraction in the United States is returning to Grimes County this weekend for the start of another season.
The Texas Renaissance Festival opens this Saturday in Todd Mission for its 51st Anniversary.
The Festival will run every weekend from October 11 thru November 30 and on Thanksgiving Friday.
The theme for the opening weekend is Oktoberfest. Visitors are invited to journey back to old Bavaria as the King and the Queen open the season.
Activities included a costume contest and a bratwurst eating contest.
Other weekend themes include: 1001 Dreams, All Hallows Eve, Pirate Adventure, Heroes & Villains, Barbarian Invasion, Highland Fling, and Celtic Christmas.

The Texas Renaissance Festival has 21 stages and many different forms of entertainment including acrobats, singers, dancers, magicians, jousting, and a court jester.
They also have over 400 on-site shops, and plenty of food booths.
The Festival, which is located on over 70 acres of land, welcomes in over 500,000 guests each year.
