DUMPSTER FIRE, ACCIDENT AMONG FOUR WEEKEND CALLS FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Saturday and one early Sunday morning.
Just shy of 5:15 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called out to a home in the 300 block of West Chauncy Street for a report of burning in a backyard. They made location to find a small fire burning. The department spoke with the homeowner about burning in the city limits before extinguishing the fire.
Approaching 7:30 p.m., units were dispatched for a transportation incident in the 1700 block of Highway 105. There, they found a two-vehicle accident. They checked for injuries and fluids leaking, but no one was hurt and there was no spill.
A few minutes after 7:30 p.m., BFD members responded to Kruse Village, 1700 East Stone Street, for an alarm sounding. Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, but they did find a bad detector, so they advised an employee to have maintenance come check the detector out.
Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, personnel went out to a report of a dumpster fire at Rey Regio, 1600 North Park Street. They made location to find the dumpster smoking and used tank water to put the fire out.
