THREE CONTESTED RACES FOR BURTON CITY COUNCIL; BURTON SCHOOL BOARD INCUMBENTS UNOPPOSED
City of Burton residents will be able to vote on three city council seats in May.
The deadline passed last week for candidates to file for a place on the ballot for the election on Saturday, May 2nd, and each of the three incumbents on the council will face a challenger.
For Position #2, Tommie Gilmon will be opposed by Sheila Ripple.
Position #3 incumbent Jeff Eckhardt will face Charly Ruemke.
Macey Tidwell, who holds Position #5, will be challenged by Berneake Gantt.
Meanwhile, the Burton School Board will not have any contested races. The three sitting board members – Dean Fuchs, Misty Lucherk and Donna Putnam – were the lone candidates to file.
The last day to register to vote for the May 2nd election is Thursday, April 2nd. Early voting will run from April 20-28.
