Units were called out around 12:30 p.m. to the bank at 2211 South Day Street for a vehicle on fire in the drive-thru lane, located below the main structure.

According to Brenham Fire Chief Mark Donovan, firefighters found a Fiat heavily involved with impingement on the underside of the structure, resulting in an upgraded response to a structure fire.

Members of the Brenham Fire Department and the Chappell Hill, Salem and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched, along with Washington County EMS and local law enforcement.

Donovan said there was no damage to the building and no injuries to report.  There was light smoke on the first floor that the department would ventilate.

According to Donovan, the cause of the fire appears to be accidental, possibly a mechanical issue.
