BURTON PANTHERS AND FAITH MISSION BEING RECOGNIZED AT NEXT COMMISSIONERS COURT MEETING
The Burton Panther State Championship Baseball Team is being recognized at the next Washington County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday morning.
The Commissioners will be honoring the players, coaches and staff for winning the program’s first State Championship since 1987.
Faith Mission Executive Director Rev. Randy Wells is scheduled to give the invocation at the meeting. In a related item, the commissioners are scheduled to present Faith Mission with a Proclamation for their longstanding service, emergency response efforts, and commitment to the citizens of Washington County.
Rev. Wells is also scheduled to discuss the First Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between Washington County and Faith Mission regarding Disaster Recovery Fund administration, and an updated Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities for emergency services.
In addition to that, the Commissioners will vote on the approval of the employment for the Fire Services Director, including a starting salary and a moving stipend exceeding the amount authorized under county personnel policy.
Other agenda items include the acceptance of a $5,000 donation by Scott and Hilary Hill to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and a request from the Prairie Hill-Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department for $30,000 to assist with the local match requirement to purchase a new water tanker through a Texas A&M Forest Service Grant.
The Washington County Commissioners Court meets Tuesday at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
