BLINN MEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO NATIONAL PARK 1-0

The No. 10 Blinn College men’s soccer team fell to National Park College 1-0 in a non-region road match Sunday in Hot Springs, Ark.

The two teams played to a scoreless stalemate through the first half before National Park broke through with the game’s only goal in the 73rd minute.

The Buccaneers dropped to 1-1 overall.

“We knew today’s trip would present us with a special set of challenges,” Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. “It did. However, whenever we are forced to endure situations like we did today, we need to learn to control the controllables.”

The Buccaneers finished with 14 shots, including six on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Samir Bristol suffered the first loss of his collegiate career. Bristol, who made four saves, is now 6-1-0 in his career and 1-1 this season.

Blinn returns to action when it opens Region 14 play at No. 5 Tyler Junior College at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in Tyler, Texas.
