NINE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT
Nine people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st and 335th District Court, before Judge John Winkelmann.
34-year-old Deandrea Loshawn Barnett of Bryan, sentenced to 10 years in prison for Assault of a Family Member with Previous Conviction, a third degree felony.
46-year-old Michael Strawhun of Brenham, sentenced to 10 years in prison for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a second degree felony.
22-year-old Bobby Dion Brooks Jr. of Houston, sentenced to 9 years in prison on each of two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, a second degree felony.
31-year-old Kimberly Shawnita Miller of Jacksonville, Arkansas, probation revoked and sentenced to 5 years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.
41-year-old Andy Joelee Doolan of Brenham, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 4 years in prison for Continuous Violence Against the Family, a third degree felony.
36-year-old Michael Jarod Hubbard of Hempstead, sentenced to 12 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony.
36-year-old Nicholas Andrew Lofton of Bellville, sentenced to 10 years’ probation for Assault of a Family Member Impeding Breath/Circulation, a third degree felony. Lofton was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, a $100 family violence fee to a shelter, and $50 warrant and crime stoppers fees. Additionally, he must maintain no contact with the victim in the case and perform 200 hours of community service. Lofton was also sentenced to 2 years’ probation, register as a sex offender and abide by sex offender conditions, maintain no contact with the victim and pay a $50 warrant fee for Attempted Sexual Assault, a third degree felony. He was also sentenced to 179 days in the Washington County Jail for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A misdemeanor, and returned to Waller County custody on their charges.
53-year-old Derrick Chad Stepan of Cypress, sentenced to 4 years’ probation for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a third degree felony. Stepan will also have to pay a $1,000 fine, $100 to the EMS Trauma Fund and a $60 lab fee, in addition to performing 100 hours of community service and complying with Interstate Compact requirements.
36-year-old Kendrick Jamar Cross of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Unlawful Installation of a Tracking Device, a Class A misdemeanor. Cross was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $50 crime stoppers fee. He must also perform 100 hours of community service and maintain no contact with the victim in the case.
