The annual celebration brought together 400 attendees at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham in support of the mission of Camp For All, who provides a barrier-free camp experience for children and adults with challenging illnesses, disabilities or special needs.
Organizers say this year’s gala raised more than $475,000. Proceeds will support continued opportunities for campers, both at Camp For All’s existing site in Burton and its new location in Chappell Hill that is set to open next summer.
Camp For All President and CEO Pat Prior Sorrells called the Blueprint Bash “another powerful reminder of what’s possible when a generous community comes together around a mission that changes lives.” She expressed gratitude to all those who attended, gave or volunteered, adding, “Their generosity will help even more campers discover what they’re capable of and experience the magic that comes from being part of Camp.”
The Blueprint Bash honored Karen and Bob Funk and Citizens State Bank for their commitments to Camp For All and for their continuous support. It also featured words from camper Blake Hyland, who offered a personal look at what Camp For All has meant to him and how it continues to positively impact his life.
Camp For All has served more than 200,000 campers since its gates first opened in 1998. Camp officials say that between Burton and the new Chappell Hill campsite, they will be able to serve up to 18,000 campers throughout the year.
