PUBLIC A NO-SHOW AT COMMISSIONERS MEETING TO DISCUSS PROPOSED TAX RATE
The Washington County Commissioners were set to hear public comment and discussion regarding the Washington County 2015 proposed tax rate when they met this morning at the Washington County Courthouse.
No member of the public was present to discuss the proposed tax rate of $52.11 cents per $100 valuation.
The next public hearing on the tax rate will be held September 14th
The commissioners approved the replacement a current member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. Donna Gomez was the name approved by the commissioners.
Also approved was a proclamation to make September 3rd through October 29th as “The Washington County Read.”
The book up for reading is “My Boys and Girls and In There” by Ron Rozelle. A story of the 1937 New London Texas School Explosion. On October 29, meet the author and listen to an interpretive reading of parts of the book from 5:30 – 7:30pm at the Unity Theatre.
