BLINN STUDENTS RAISE MONEY AND FOOD TO SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES

  

Blinn students have recently completed their most successful drive for local charities.

As part of Blinn’s Service Learning Program, which combines community service with classroom instruction, Blinn college students held a food drive. The students raised more than 3000 food items to donate to Bread Partners of Washington County and $900 to Adam’s Angels Ministry.

Bread Partners of Washington County collects food goods for distribution to disadvantaged families and Adam’s Angels Ministry provides care and comfort for families battling childhood cancer.

Assistant Dean for Agriculture and Natural Sciences. Bryn Behnke says, “Our students realize the tremendous support the community gives to Blinn and they just wanted to do something to give a little back.” More than 1800 Blinn students participate in the Service Learning Program each semester.
