BRENHAM, BURTON ISD PARTNERING WITH NON-PROFIT TO HOLD SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

School is fast approaching, and the non-profit group “For the City” wants to make school supply searching a little easier, with a community-wide back to school drive.

Partnering with Brenham and Burton ISD, the organization is setting up 19 donation sites—such as the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library—that will serve as collection sites throughout the month of July.  Brenham ISD Communications Director Jessica Johnston says this drive helps bring the community together.

Any supplies donated will be delivered directly to schools and students that need them.

Johnston says school supplies can be costly, so this event is designed to help reduce costs for disadvantaged children and families.

There will also be two Stuff the Bus events in the Brenham Walmart parking lot on July 28 and August 11 from 8 to 11 a.m., for anyone else who wants to donate.

School supply lists, as well as donation collection sites, can be found at ISD websites and at http://cityofbrenham.org/library.
