BRENHAM P.D. OFFICER REFUSED SERVICE – “AN ISOLATED INCIDENT”

Brenham Police and a local fast food restaurant say a recent incident in which a Brenham police officer was refused service, was the exception rather than the rule.

Recently an officer was denied service by an employee at the McDonald’s at 500 Highway 290 West, in front of HEB.

Police Chief Craig Goodman says the owners of the McDonald’s were promptly notified of the incident and were upset when they learned of it.  Goodman says they have been eager to see that the issue is resolved and have expressed their continued support of Law Enforcement.

Goodman goes on to say, “the Brenham Police Department continues to receive incredible support from the community and are grateful for this partnership.”

According to Brenham police, one of their officers, who was off duty with his family, was refused service for being a Police Officer.

Goodman says this was an isolated incident that involved a single employee who is not fond of Law Enforcement.  That employee has been fired.

Goodman goes on to say it’s his hope that this employee and anyone else who has a negative view of Law Enforcement address the problem through positive communication with the department.

Goodman thanked the owners of McDonald’s for their continued support and for seeing that this issue has been resolved.
