A costly mistake by Tomball coaches gave the Brenham Cubs the chance they needed to pull off the overtime victory. The Brenham Cubs were facing a 4th down, behind by 3, and a long field goal to tie the game. Tomball coaches called a timeout, but they did not have any left, and the ensuing penalty gave the Cubs an automatic 1st down. That's all the Cubs needed as moments later Weldon Patterson scored his 3rd touchdown of the night to seal the Cub win.
