Bellville police report at approximately 4 p.m. Monday afternoon, three suspects entered Newman’s Bakery and took a safe while no one was watching.  The subjects then ran out of the bakery and fled in a white Infiniti sedan.  Bellville police say the Waller Police Department tried to stop the vehicle after being notified of the vehicle description, but it continued to flee, leading to a pursuit with police, Waller County Sheriff’s Deputies, and DPS.

The suspects, while being pursued on Highway 290 East, threw the safe from their vehicle out onto an access road.  Soon after, the vehicle was involved in a three-car crash near the 99 overpass on Highway 290.

A third party occupant involved in the car crash was transported to a nearby hospital.

  1. Robbing a bakery for the dough, a pretty sweet idea but it didn’t pan out for them.

One suspect is photographed NOT wearing a mask, which also carelessly put the patrons of the bakery at risk of contracting Covid 19.
