BRENHAM MAN KILLED IN THREE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT NEAR K&M GROCERY

  

Update #2 @ 2:30 p.m.: A Brenham man has died after sustaining injuries in a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Highway 36 South in Brenham.

Authorities responded to the accident shortly after 4:15 p.m. at the highway’s intersection with FM 109, next to K&M Grocery.

Upon arrival, Washington County EMS found that the passenger of one of the vehicles, 47-year-old Keith Alan Lorentz, had possible life threatening injuries and brought their Air Rescue Unit for transport to an area hospital.

This (Friday) morning, at about 3:30 a.m., Lorentz passed away from injuries suffered during the crash.

The driver of the same vehicle, as well as the driver of a separate vehicle, were transported and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the Brenham Police Department are working with the Department of Public Safety to recreate the crash scene, and have not released the cause of the crash.

 

Update # 1 @ 11:40 a.m.: KWHI has confirmed one person was killed in a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Highway 36 South in Brenham.

The accident occurred shortly after 4:15 p.m. at the highway’s intersection with FM 109, next to K&M Grocery.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

KWHI is awaiting more information from the Brenham Police Department, who was the primary agency working the accident.

 

Original Story @ 7:18 a.m.: Two people were transported for injuries after a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Highway 36 South in Brenham.

The accident occurred shortly after 4:15 p.m. at the highway’s intersection with FM 109, next to K&M Grocery.

Details of the accident are limited; however, a LifeFlight helicopter was among the emergency responders called to the scene.  DPS has not received reports of any fatalities at this time.

The Brenham Fire Department assisted EMS with the patients and blocked off traffic until the scene was cleared.
