22-year old Jacob Andrew Bohannon was found guilty Wednesday of charges he had sex with a 14-year-old when he was 19, after the two had gone to a bar in South Brazos County where they’d both been drinking.

Bohannon was a senior in high school when he was arrested for raping the freshman girl, who, according to her parent’s testimony, was hardly able to speak or walk when her father went to pick her up in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

In closing, state attorneys asked the jurors to consider no less than a 10-year prison term for Bohannon, who was facing up to 20 years and was also eligible for probation.

Bohannon’s attorney, Brent Wasserstein of Houston, argued for probation in his closing remarks. He said his client made a “stupid decision” and was “remorseful,” but is not a threat.

Bohannon will have to serve at least half of his prison sentence before he’s eligible for parole.

  1. I cannot believe that is all he will get. which means he won’t serve even that amount. It is disgraceful.
