STOLEN VEHICLE REPORT LEADS TO ARREST OF MANOR MAN ON ASSAULT WARRANT

  

A Travis County man was booked into jail by Brenham police on Wednesday after their investigation of a stolen vehicle report led to their discovery of a warrant for the man’s arrest.

Around 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of the city limits on Highway 290 West, in reference to a vehicle reported to be stolen traveling towards Brenham.

Police stopped the vehicle near the 800 block of Highway 290 East and determined that the vehicle was no longer stolen and had not been removed from the statewide database. 

However, officers learned that the driver, 23-year-old Isiah George Demarcus Washington of Manor, had an active warrant issued by the Austin Police Department for Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle. 

Washington was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
