BRENHAM CHORALE LOOKING FOR “VOICES”

The Brenham Chorale is looking for new members for their October performance with the Blinn College Coral Union.

The two will be joining together to perform Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana”, October 26th and 27th at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center.

Performances will feature pianists Dr. Linda Patterson and Erich L. Knapp, percussionists Dr. Sarah Burke and Todd Quinlan, soprano Annamarie Zmolek, tenor Chris Hoffman and bass Dan Bircher.

The Brenham Children’s Chorus, directed by Pam Young, will also perform. The concert will be conducted by Dr. Joel Plaag, Blinn choir director.

Any adult with a passion for singing is encouraged to join the Chorale, which has brought music to Brenham since 1974 and recently performed Mozart’s “Requiem” at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

On Dec. 8, the Brenham Chorale and Blinn Choral Union will present the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah” for the second consecutive year at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

The Chorale does not hold auditions, and singers of all experience levels are welcome.

For more information, call 979-830-4239 or come to the first rehearsal Monday, Aug. 25, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the C.F. Schmidt Building on the Blinn-Brenham campus.
