HOFFMAN DECIDES ON SAN MARCO FOR COLLEGE CAREER

Brenham Cubs baseball star Teddy Hoffman has decided where he’ll be playing next year.

Hoffman will be attending Texas State beginning this fall.

Hoffman chose the Bobcats over offers from Rice, Texas Tech and Kansas State.

Hoffman had made plans to play at Howard Junior College, but the four-year schools began recruiting him heavily during a hugely successful 2014 season.

This past season, Hoffman hit .427 with a .521 on base percentage.  He had 18 doubles and eight home runs, while scoring 39 runs and driving in 41.

Texas State was 30-28 in 2014, with a 16-14 conference record.  Former Blinn Buccaneer coach Ty Harrington has been the head coach of the Bobcats for the past 14 seasons.

Teddy Hoffman pitched well enough to win but got little offensive support.

As a pitcher, Hoffman was 3-3 with three saves and a 2.50 ERA.  He struck 26 batters in 22 innings pitched.

Hoffman helped lead the Cubs to a 27-11 record and a berth in the Region Finals.

Hoffman is the second Cub senior to make plans to play college baseball.  Dakota Brewton will join the Blinn Buccaneers in the fall.  Cub senior Tyler Watts will try to play football as a freshman walk-on at Texas State.
