NINE CUBS RECEIVE ALL-DISTRICT HONORS
Nine members of the Brenham Cubs’ 2014 baseball team have been named All-District 18/4A.
Five Cubs received first-team honors, including senior Teddy Hoffman and juniors Blake Wellmann, Ryan Newman, Jacob Stegent and Rayne Richard.
Sophomore pitcher Broc Bosse was named Newcomer of the Year, while head coach Lanny Williams was named Coach of the Year.
Second Team selection went to seniors Tyler Watts and Dakota Brewton, along with junior Sam McElreath.
The 2014 Cubs were 27-11, becoming the 42nd team in Cubs’ history to win a District Championship and qualified for the playoffs for the 31st year in a row.
The Cubs’ season ended Saturday with an 8-2 loss to George Ranch in the Region III/4A Championship.
