College Station and Bryan rescuers discovered the body of a missing woman, swept away by high waters at a College Station park.

College Station Police say, 32-April Turner was walking her dog at Lick Creek Park, Saturday morning at around 8:30 a.m. when the dog got into a nearby creek and began struggling in the water.

Turner jumped into the water and pushed her dog to safety. However, the rain-swelled waters then swept her downstream.

Turner’s body was discovered late Saturday night about a quarter of a mile from where she went into the creek.

College Station emergency personnel conducted the search at the park is off Rock Prairie Road on the east side of Highway 6. The Bryan Fire Department, the Search Dog Network, and Texas Parks and Wildlife all assisted with the search.
