A 15-year old from Chappell Hill faces a marijuana possession charge after his arrest at Brenham High School, Monday afternoon.

Several teachers told Brenham Police Cpl. Lance Weiss that there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from two bathrooms.

Upon investigation, Weiss discovered three juveniles had entered the bathroom just after 1:00 p.m.

Once Weiss found the three, he discovered that the 15-year old was in possession of a marijuana cigarette.

He was turned over to Washington County Juvenile Probation.

  1. It does not matter who your role models are or who the kids hang out with…kids at this age should know right from wrong and all the blame should be placed on them. . .personally I think if the parents were to be fined as well as the kids maybe the parents would start taking more interest in they children….if they want to blame it on “it’s the friends they hang with” then maybe they should know their friends and as the adult make the adult/parent choice not to let them hang out. . to many kids are the “parents” these day. . If everyone keeps giving the kids he excuse to mess up with no punishment it will be come a habit of life for them. Sad that kids don’t have enough activities to keep them busy these days. . . .

    1. If you are referring to popular artists you are incorrect, the artists, yes, smoke weed, but do they do it in school? No, in fact most of rappers like future just lyricize about it in songs, but don’t actually do it. Also considering the fact most mainstream rappers live in LA where marijuana is actually legal. Therefore it’s not the role models, it’s the friends they’re hanging out with to be precise, no need to point fingers at “role models”.

  2. If it happened on Monday how come the parents of other students are just now finding out on KWHI? Parents should be notified when something like this happens at a school their children attend.

    1. Oh but if it were alcohol, you probably wouldn’t have said that. Do you think cannabis ruins lives? If so, you’re wrong. It’s the flawed laws that ruin the lives, not the drug itself.

      1. Ahhhh, so the kids should be allowed to smoke dope in school? Because that won’t cause any problems. Get real. And yes, it would be just as sad if 3 high school kids were caught drinking in the bathroom during class. Regardless of your feelings on the legalization or criminalization of marijuana, kids don’t need to be smoking it, even if it were legal, just as they don’t need to be drinking or smoking cigarettes, either.

        1. Did I say that kids should be allowed to smoke pot in school? Not at all. I’m glad you feel the same way about alchohol though, and that you aren’t a prohibitionist…or so it kinda seems.

      2. Regardless it’s illegal and not allowed on the premises or anywhere at that. Respect the law don’t argue with it. If you want to change it work hrs and become apart of the system
