27TH ANNUAL BURTON COTTON GIN FESTIVAL KICKS OFF

  

The 27th annual Burton Cotton Gin Festival is kicks off today (Friday) and continues through tomorrow (Saturday) in historic Downtown Burton.

There will be an all you can eat shrimp boil beginning at 6:00pm this evening (Friday) with a live auction. Then tomorrow (Saturday) there will be free admission from 10:00am to 6:00pm. A parade will begin at 10:00am followed by family activities such as bubble gum blowing, pie eating, and seed pulling.

Museum Director of the Cotton Gin Museum, Linda Russell says that even after 27 years, the crowds still come in strong for the festival.

 

 

There will be over 50 craft booths, tractor pulls, and tours of the Historic 1914 Farmers Gin and Wehring Shoe Shop. Music will feature the Shiner Hobo Band, Hilltop Ramblers, and the Dujka Brothers.

KWHI and our sister station, KTEX 106 will be broadcasting live from the Cotton Gin Festival, including from the official parade Saturday morning.
