A PERMIT IS THE NEXT STEP IN LIBRARY RENOVATION

A permit has been taken out for the soon- to-be newly renovated Nancy Carol Roberts Library, which, when completed with result in a larger library and more available services.

The permit, in the amount of $3.1 million dollars, is the cumulation of a 10 year plan that was put together and money raised from private sources and fundraisers by the Fortnightly Club.

In 2014, the library checked out over 60,000 items from its collection, and added more than 100 new library patron every month.

  1. The City of Brenham contributed 1.5 million dollars towards the library renovation.

    1. Thank you Susan for giving the tax payers a complete report. Other than a nice childrens section, lots of space for story time, local history section and desks for free computers, what else is needed? That takes 3.1 million? Come on council, where are the fiscally conservative representatives you all pretend to be? Over the top buildings for “show and tell”?
