BLINN BRYAN CAMPUS THEATRE DEPARTMENT TO PRESENT 10-MINUTE PLAYS:LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE

  

Blinn College in Bryan will be demonstrating its theatre department by performing 10-Minute Plays: Lightning in a Bottle through this Saturday.

The program features six short plays -- five comedies and a drama -- by up-and-coming American playwrights. They were originally part of the Humana Festival put on by the students at the Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Blinn's Bryan theater director Greg Wise has used the festival's plays as a scene study for his students for the past six years.

Wise said, "Audiences can expect anything and everything from Lightning in a Bottle."

"It's about flashes of ideas. It's rapid paced -- I call it channel surfing for the stage. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Wise warns that some of the presentations deal with adult themes and language.

10-Minute Plays: Lightning in a Bottle will be presented in the Barbara L. Pearson Banquet Room on the Blinn campus in Bryan. Show begins at 7:30.

Admission is free.
