BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO GRASS FIRE WEDNESDAY

A small grass fire in southern Washington County brought the Brenham Fire Department to the scene Wednesday afternoon.

At 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, Brenham firemen were called to Spring Creek off State Highway 36 South where they found a small grass fire in a pasture.  They assisted the Salem Fire Department in extinguishing the flames.

Earlier Wednesday at 12:09 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department responded to 400 U.S. Highway 290 near Jack in the Box for an auto accident.  No one was trapped and no fluids leaked, so firemen just assisted at the scene.

And at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday, firemen were dispatched to Kruse Village at 1700 East Stone Street in Brenham for an automatic alarm.  Someone had burned food in a microwave, causing light smoke to set off the alarm in a hallway.  Fans were used to remove the smoke.
