BRENHAM P.D. WARNS OF SCAM

Brenham Police are cautioning residents about a potential scam involving an internet/communications provider.

Cpl. Lance Weiss says one of the subjects involved said they were attempting to get current customers to upgrade service to wireless internet.

Weiss contacted AT&T and was told their representatives can provide an AT&T identification number.

According to Weiss, the subject he stopped was unable to provide that ID number.

The City of Brenham also requires all vendors to have a vendor permit and to display their City-issued identification at all times. If you have questions of these vendors, you can always ask to see their photo ID.

If you have any questions, please contact the City Secretary’s Office at 979-337-7375 or contact Washington County Dispatch at 979-337-7272.
