BROWN SHUT OUT AT COLLEGIATE AWARDS

Former Brenham Cub and current Texas Longhorn lineman Malcolm Brown came up empty at last night’s Home Depot College Football Awards.

Brown, a 6’ 3” 320-pound junior defensive tackle at Texas, was a finalist for the Bronco Nagurski Award (for top defensive player) and the Outland Trophy (top interior lineman).

Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright won the Nagurski award, while Brendan Scherff of Iowa won the Outland Trophy.

Brown was also on the watch list for the 2014 Chuck Bednarik Award, which went to Wright, as well.

Brown and the Longhorns are getting ready for the Texas Bowl, December 29th against Arkansas.
