BUYER FOR OLD LEE CO. JAIL FOUND

A buyer has been found for the old Lee County Jail and Sheriff’s Office.

Local high-speed wireless internet provider, ZochNet of Lincoln submitted the winning bid for the building located at 424 S. Main.

The Lee County Commissioners court has been through an extensive process to determine the best use for the buildings.

ZochNet will purchase the property for a price tag of just over $121,000.

The sale was approved unanimously by the Lee County Commissioners at the meeting last week.

Lee County Judge Paul Fischer says he’s, “happy that someone will make good use of the facility.”

Roger Turner, Chief Financial Officer of Unified Communications, Inc. says the property will become the corporate headquarters for ZochNet.

Turner announced that the building will be renamed as the “ZochNet Technology Center”, and includes a tower that ZochNet had been leasing since their inception in 2010.
