CASA TRAINING TO BE HELD THIS SATURDAY

Fall training for the Court Appointed Special Advocates Academy (CASA) will take place this Saturday.

It’s an opportunity for residents to become a Special Advocate for children in the foster system. CASA advocates are screened and highly trained. They are then appointed by judges to represent and advocate on behalf of a child’s best interest in the child protection system. CASA advocates are assigned one child, or a set of siblings at a time, so that they are able to give that child or sibling group the individualized attention they need and deserve. It’s the goal of CASA advocates to help children find safe, permanent homes as soon as possible.

The training session will be this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2309 S. Day Street in Brenham. To request an application, email executivedirector@wespeak4kids.org or call 979-277-0088.
