"Everyone enjoys putting on their creative hat and bringing the Scarecrows to life. It helps set the stage for our annual Scarecrow contest and we encourage everyone to put their creative skills to work and maybe earn a prize," stated Joel Romo, President of the Chappell Hill Historical Society.

Scarecrows must be displayed by Monday, October 9th and judging will take place on Tuesday, October 10th and winners will be notified on Wednesday, October 11th. Entry Forms will be available at the Museum and must be submitted by Friday, October 6th.

Prize will be awarded as follows:

Residents & Business Category – 1st Place - $100.00, 2nd Place - $75.00, 3rd Place - $50.00

Children’s Category – 1st Place – $50.00, 2nd Place - $25.00, 3rd Place - $15.00

"This is a great way to promote Chappell Hill and our community always comes up with some great Scarecrows. The Chappell Hill Historical Society is currently preparing our Scarecrows for their annual visit to town and we hope this contest will encourage others to participate," concluded Romo.  Story and photo courtesy of The Chappell Hill Historical Society.
