CITY APPROVES PURCHASE OF FURNITURE FOR REMODELED LIBRARY

Brenham’s newly remodeled and expanded library is getting two hundred thousand dollars in new furnishings and fixtures thanks to today’s (Thursday’s) action of the Brenham City Council.

During Thursday afternoon’s meeting, council members approved a contract with Intelligent Interiors for just under two hundred thousand dollars in items for the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.  Included are computer and folding tables, assorted lounge and task chairs, children’s furnishings, miscellaneous fixtures and other accessories.  The contract also covers outdoor furnishings for the new outdoor reading room at the library.

Also approved during Thursday’s City Council meeting was the purchase of seven body armor vests for the Brenham Police Department.  Money seized in narcotic arrests will be used to pay the $10,400 cost of the vests, which will replace some that are reaching the end of their lifespans.
