CUBS FACE HIGH-POWERED MUSTANGS TONIGHT

The Brenham Cubs hit the road in District 19/5A play, tonight when they visit Magnolia West.

The Cubs (2-2/1-0) are looking to build on their district-opening win last week over Tomball Memorial, 34-14; while the Mustangs (3-1/1-0) downed Tomball, 40-14.

Coach Glen West says the Cubs will be facing a very explosive, veteran team in Magnolia West…

Magnolia West leads District 19/5A in offense, averaging 487 yards per game.

Mustangs’ quarterback Tyler Fere has completed 76-percent of his passes for nearly 900 yards, with six touchdowns and no interceptions.

Senior running back Adrian Thomas has rushed for over 700 yards and 12 touchdowns, and caught 20 passes for 340 yards and three scores.

The Cubs’ offense has picked up in the last two games, averaging over 250 yards in their wins over Tomball Memorial and Houston Westside.

The Cubs, however, have turned the ball over ten times in four games…something Coach West says they can’t afford to do tonight…

Kick off at Magnolia West is set for 7:00.

Tonight’s game can be heard beginning at 6:30 on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
