CUBS RIP ELGIN, 86-43 IN HOOPS OPENER

The Brenham Cubs built up a huge early lead and coasted to an 86-43 win over Elgin in their 2014-15 season opener.

Brenham blew out to a 28-8 lead after the first quarter and extended the lead to 42-15 by half time.

The Cubs kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 20-9 and extending their lead to 62-24.

The Cubs’ Antoine Lister led all scorers with 29 points.  Three other Cubs were in double figures: Chase Brooks with 14, Cjay Myles had13 and Matt Howlett added 12.

The Cubs’ game Friday has been moved back a day due to the football team’s playoff game.  The Cubs will visit Clements Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
