FATHER AND SON ARRESTED ON THEFT CHARGES
Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have recovered property stolen from a local business and also obtained evidence that led to the arrest of a father and son allegedly involved in the crime.
On August 24, 2015 ATS Irrigation reported the theft of two flatbed trailers and a Bobcat excavator valued at $25,000.00. Sergeant Investigator Mark Whidden utilized investigative techniques which directed him to the residence of 25 year old Chappell Hill resident identified as Cash Heath.
Upon arrival Sergeant Whidden observed a trailer and Bobcat excavator connected to Heath’s vehicle parked at the residence. Both the trailer and excavator had the serial numbers removed or obliterated, had been freshly painted and contained a 30 day temporary registration tag. Both the trailer and Bobcat were later identified and confirmed as the stolen equipment from ATS Irrigation.
Through further investigator, Sergeant Whidden identified a second suspect and the father of Cash, 58 year old Caldwell resident Ricky Lee Heath. Sergeant Whidden traveled to the father’s residence and located the second stolen trailer. Both Ricky and Cash Heath were taken into custody for felony theft of property greater than $20,000.00.
The stolen property was later returned to the owner.
