FAYETTE CO-OP OFFERS TRIP TO WASHINGTON D.C.

  

Two students in the service area of the Fayette Electric Cooperative will be headed to Washington D.C. next summer.

Current sophomores, juniors and seniors, are eligible enter a contest with a chance to win a FREE trip to our nation’s capital next summer if they live in the home of a parent or guardian whose residence is served by Fayette Electric Cooperative.

More than 1,700 students from 44 states are expected to travel to Washington, D.C. June 8 – 17, 2016 as part of the annual Government in Action Youth Tour sponsored by local electric cooperatives – all at no cost to the winners from each co-op.

In June 2016, Fayette EC will sponsor two eligible high school students on this trip that begins in Austin with a tour of the State Capitol and the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. The following day, the Texas delegation will fly to DC to see the sights of Washington D.C., including: the Washington National Cathedral,

Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian Institution, memorials and more. Activities include seeing a performance at the Kennedy Center, going on a boat cruise with dinner and dancing, and meeting elected officials. The trip lasts 10 days.
