FEMA TO CLOSE THREE AREA CENTERS

  

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that today is the last day for three area Disaster Recovery Centers.

FEMA is closing its Disaster Recovery Centers in Sealy in Austin County, in Bastrop, and in Somerville in Burleson County. The Austin County center in Sealy is located at St. Mary’s Catholic Church CCD Building. The center in Bastrop is located at the ROTC Building and Bastrop High School. The center in Somerville is located at the Yegua Center. All locations will close on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Also closing is the center in Plantersville in Grimes County, located at City Hall and Todd City Mission. It will close this Saturday at noon. The Disaster Recovery Center in Conroe in Montgomery County, located at Lone Star College, will close this Saturday at 2.p.m.

In addition to these closures, the Disaster Recovery Center in Bryan in Brazos County will close Wednesday, August 3rd at 6 p.m. The center is located at Bryan High School Blue Campus. The center in Tomball in Harris County, located in the Tomball Public Works Building, will close Wednesday, August 10th at 6 p.m.

FEMA representative Rita Egan reminds the public that the deadline is approaching for Texans affected by the storms. If damage occurred May 26-June 24, the registration deadline is Aug. 10.
