FORMER CUB MALCOM BROWN HEADED TO NFL

Former Brenham Cub Malcom Brown is now a former Texas Longhorn. The DT has informed coach Charlie Strong that he has declared for the 2015 NFL Draft. Brown is said to be a consensus 1st round draft pick and will leave behind a legacy at UT.  As an All-American, Brown ended the final season of his Texas career with 70 tackles, 13 TFL, 6.5 sacks, 7 QB hurries and 2 FF. The 70 tackles were good for 5th on the team this year, while the tackles for loss and sacks led the team.  He was the first Texas DT to lead the team in those last two since Tony DeGrate in 1984. With a wife and 2 kids, as well as impressive junior film that helped him become a finalist for the Bronco Nagurski Award (best defensive player in country) and Outland Trophy (best interior lineman in country) this season, many expected the 6'3" 320-lb. defensive lineman to declare early for the NFL.
