GRIMES CO. NAMES NEW J.P. IN PRECINCT ONE
Grimes County Commissioners have appointed a new Justice of the Peace in Precinct 1.
Chris Acord will take over the position from Judge Gene Stapleton, who will officially retire this Tuesday. Stapleton has been the Justice of the Peace for the past 10 years, after succeeding Acord’s father, Stephen.
Chris Accord attended school in Anderson before receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and a minor in secondary education from Sam Houston State University.
He then returned to Anderson, where he taught agriculture science from 2000 to 2003. Since that time he has been a self-employed cattle rancher.
