KENNEDY ALTMAN CROWNED WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR QUEEN

Kennedy Altman was crowned Queen of the 2017 Washington County Fair Saturday evening.  Altman is representing Washington County 4-H and is the daughter of Lance and Shannon Altman. She sold a total of 3224 season passes raising a total of $80,610.  Runner up this year was Molly Voskamp, also representing Washington County 4H.  She sold a total of 2967 tickets.

All four of the candidates raised a total of $179,293.  That beats the old record from 2015 of $178,837.  Ashley Mixon was awarded the $500 prize for Judges Choice.

The Junior Mr. and Miss. Pageant was held just before the Queen’s crowning.  The Junior Mr. and Miss. this year are Hunter Kunkel and Maddi Rogers.

This is the opening weekend for the fair and it kicked off this morning with a parade through downtown Brenham.  Fair activates continue all week and will culminate Saturday night with a concert from country artist Dwight Yoakam.

Hunter Kunkel and Maddi Rogers were named Junior Mr. and Miss. of the 2017 Washington County Fair.
