The Rotary Club of Washington County helped bring together adoptable children and prospective families at Horseshoe Junction Wednesday.
The Club along with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services hosted their third annual Adoption Fair Wednesday morning at the local amusement park.
There were 47 adoptable children meeting and mingling with 20 families that had registered for the event.
The prospective parents had an opportunity to see the children in a fun environment and engage with the children.
A spokesman says the Rotary Club of Washington County recognizes that the community has a great need for this program and is grateful for DFPS scheduling this event and for Horseshoe Junction providing their facility for this special occasion.
Due to the sensitive nature of the event, the DFPS would not authorize advance publicity of the event.
Anyone interested in being a foster adoption family or for more information about DFPS and Wednesday’s event can contact Christi Yackel, 979 203-6931.
