LONGTIME BRENHAM BUSINESS OWNER JIMMIE HAHN JR. DIES

  

A longtime Brenham business owner has died.

Jimmie Hahn Jr.

Jimmie Hahn Jr. died Wednesday at his residence in Brenham at the age of 80.  Hahn served as president of Jimmie Hahn Incorporated and La Grange Concrete and Aggregate for 35 years.  The concrete plant located in Brenham was sold in 2015 to Lauren Concrete.

Hahn graduated from Brenham High School in 1954, where he lettered fifteen times in baseball, basketball, track and football….and was All-State and All-American in football.  His high school track team won two state championships, and his basketball team was state runner-up.  Hahn attended Blinn College and SMU, where he continued to excel at sports.

Hahn was very active in the Brenham community with Boy Scouts, the Brenham Jaycees, Brenham Maifest Association, Brenham Industrial Foundation, Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Washington County Little League, Grace Lutheran Church and the Brenham Country Club.

Funeral services for Jimmie Hahn Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham.  Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
