MAN KILLED IN LAKE CONROE BOAT ACCIDENT
A 58-year-old man is dead after two boats collided during a Lake Conroe bass fishing tournament.
According to the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, Michael Wayne Conaway died shortly after authorities arrived on the scene north of the FM 1097 bridge on Saturday. The driver of the other boat was not injured.
Authorities say the collision happened around 7:50 a.m., and that the boats appeared to travel as fast as 45 mph when they collided.
According to the constable’s office, the drivers of the two boats did not think that the other would yield before the crash occurred.
The collision remains under investigation.
