McCOWAN SIGNS WITH MISSISSIPPI STATE

Brenham Cubette basketball star Teaira McCowan has decided where she will play her college basketball.

Thursday, McCowan signed a National Letter of Intent at Mississippi State University.

The 6’7” McCowan chose the Bulldogs over long list of other schools, including Texas A&M, TCU and Baylor.

McCowan averaged over 19 points and 17 rebounds per game.  She also averaged four blocked shots per contest.

She joins a Mississippi State team that was 27-7 this past year and 11-5 in the SEC.  The Bulldogs were eliminated in the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past March by Duke.

McCowan’s teammate Angelica Darcus has already committed to Seward County Junior College in Liberal, Kansas to continue her playing career.

The Saints advanced to the second round of the NJCAA National Tournament this past season.
