MILAM CO. MAN WANTED IN GRANDSON’S DEATH

Milam County authorities are searching for the grandfather of an 11-month old drowning victim.
Sheriff's deputies were called July 19th after the drowning death of Benjamin Castro.
Authorities said in a news release late Saturday that an investigation revealed discrepancies in what 48-year-old John Earl Furnace Jr. told deputies. Furnace was caring for the child at the time of his death.
Investigators obtained warrants charging Furnace with manslaughter and endangering a child, but sheriff's officials have not been able to locate him.
