It may be awhile longer before the case involving the murder of a Blinn College student goes before the grand jury.

Washington County District Attorney Julie Renken says her office has requested further investigation by the Brenham Police Department into the death of Trey Kurtz, which occurred nearly a year ago.

Renken told KWHI Wednesday afternoon that her office doesn’t believe there’s enough evidence yet for an indictment in the case.

Kurtz was found shot to death on the night of October 30th of last year, near downtown Brenham.

Back in June Police said they’d turned all their evidence over to Renken’s office.

Renken says she feels there are some leads that need to be investigated further.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in the case.  Anyone with information may contact Crime Stoppers at 836-TIPS.
